First Violin

Violinist Mei Chang has been a member of the Pasadena Symphony since the 2007-08 season. She was a member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galícia in Spain. Mei was born in Taiwan and grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, where she studied with Ayrton Pinto, formerly of the Boston Symphony. She also has a Master of Music from Boston University, having studied with Peter Zazofsky, and chamber music with the Muir String Quartet and Raphael Hillyer. Mei plays a violin made by Carlo Antonio Testore (Milan, ca. 1730).
