Philip Smith studied string bass with Oscar Zimmerman at the Eastman School of Music. For over 40 years, he has worked as a freelance musician in the greater Los Angeles area, including film work and section bass positions with the Pasadena Symphony, Pasadena Pops, Santa Monica Symphony and the Glendale Symphony Orchestra.
For thirty-nine years, he also worked as a legal assistant for the law firm of Blecher, Collins & Pepperman. Although technically retired, he works part-time, and over the years has assisted with the representation of major Fortune 500 companies as well as small businesses in large-scale anti-trust matters and other commercial litigation. His experience includes all phases of litigation from discovery through trial.
