Dr. Anne Rardin

DR. ANNE RARDIN hails from Oklahoma and began teaching in 1985 at the University of Texas String Project. After graduating with a Masters at the Eastman School of Music she taught school in NY and Austin TX – where she played in the Austin Symphony.  A Doctorate in Music Education brought her to LA, where she performed with Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, Con Gioia Early Music Ensemble, and Bach Collegium San Diego.  Dr. R. went on to direct and develop several large El Sistema-inspired programs throughout the LA area for Harmony Project and YOLA, and has been on the faculties of Cal State Northridge (CSN), and the University of Southern California (USC). As a member of Claremont Graduate University’s Early Music/Historical Performance Practice faculty since 2004 Ms. Rardin teaches Baroque Violin and performs with a faculty ensemble, Concordia Clarimontis. As of 2019, she moved to Altadena and began directing the orchestra program at Pasadena High School.  In addition, she regularly gives conference presentations for many organizations, such as LAUSD, LA Phil, Harmony Project, CASMEC, Education through Music LA, Cal State San Bernadino, the CA Music Education Conference, and the American String Teachers Association, where she is a member of the National ASTA Health and Wellness Committee. Ms. Rardin has performed with Tony Bennet, Julie Andrews, Willie Nelson, Johnny Mathis, Randy & Michael Brecker, Marvin Hamlisch, Branford Marsalis, Harry Bicket, Giovanni Antonini, and Rachel Podger.  She can be heard on NCA label with Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, and on Bob’s Burgers and Spy Kids soundtracks.
