Flute

David Miller is a freelance flutist and educator. Mr. Miller has coached the PYSO Symphony and Wind Ensemble for the past 18 years. He directed the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena Bands program from 1975 to 1986. He then directed all the instrumental music classes at Pasadena High School from 1986 to 2012.

Now retired from full-time public school teaching, Mr. Miller continues to assist band and orchestra classes at Oak Ave. Middle School in Temple City. However, he spends the majority of his time rehearsing and performing with various Los Angeles area groups. These include principal flute positions with the Crown City Symphony, the Symphony of the Verdugos, and the Song of the Angels Flute Orchestra. He is also a member of the highly regarded group, Flute Sonic. In past years, he was principal flutist for the Highland Park Symphony of Los Angeles, the Nova Orchestra, and the Spectrum V Quintet.

Currently, David Miller performs regularly in several Italian music festivals in Central Tuscany with diverse ensembles, including the American trio, Musicisti Treamici, the Big Band Machine of Siena, and the Castel del Piano Sinfonia. Here in Southern California, he performs frequently with his wife, Paulette, a harpist, and, as well, in recitals with various pianists, guitarists, and flutists.
