Amanda Svetich graduated summa cum laude from Central Washington University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. During her time there, she served as Concertmaster of the CWU Symphony Orchestra, performed with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, sang in the CWU Choir, and conducted the Debut Orchestra of Central Washington’s Preparatory Strings Program.

She went on to earn a Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Southern California in 2010. Following her graduate studies, Mrs. Svetich spent the next 11 years as the music director in three different schools in the districts of Paramount, Glendale, and Arcadia Unified. Over the course of those years she taught band, orchestra, and choir to students ranging from 6th-12th grades. During this time, Mrs. Svetich’s ensembles were consistently ranked with top scores in local and state wide competitions as well as placing first in select judges’ invitational competitions. Mrs. Svetich was honored as Teacher of Year at Wilson Middle School in 2016 and was also an adjudicator for SCSBOA High School Honor Orchestras.

Since 2021, Mrs. Svetich has served as Orchestra Director at La Cañada High School, where she conducts three ensembles—the Debut Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, and Camerata Orchestra—as well as the Middle School Band. Known for her dynamic rehearsals and collaborative approach, she emphasizes not only technical excellence but also the joy of making music together.
