Enjoy one of the most-loved violin concertos of all time in this passionate program with the exotic rhythms of Rimsky-Korsakov and Gabriela Frank for the Pasadena Symphony’s ode to romance. Russian-American conductor and Music Director of Chicago Opera Theatre, Lidiya Yankovskaya conducts with Korean virtuoso Chee-Yun dazzling on Tchaikovsky’s masterful concerto.

The Washington Post listed Gabriela Frank as one of the 35 most significant women composers in history. With a multicultural background of Peruvian, Chinese, Lithuanian and Jewish descent, exotic Peruvian rhythms flourish with passion in her “Elegía Andina,” which explores what it means to be of several ethnic persuasions and of several minds.
